Time for trousers
My wardrobe could still do with a few pair of trousers, so I thought it was time to try a new pattern.
Those who have seen the 3 last pair of trousers I have made might think there is no big difference...and maybe they are right...the pattern was originally bought to do the trouser skirt, that will have to be the next project.

Restoring an old waistcoat
Earlier this year I started restoring an old waistcoat from my father. The waistcoat once belonged to a relative of my father who was a jazz musician, playing guitar in a jazz orchestra at the jazz club Nalen in Stockholm. My father was given the waistcoat when he was 16 years old, visiting Stockholm to see "The Gerry Mulligan quartet" at "Konserthuset" in Stockholm. Considering my fathers age it must have been in 1954.

It turned out though, that my size had changed since last time I wore it , and that it was necessary to add a bit of fabric. Since it was beginning of summer there were very little woolfabric to be found in the stores - therefore I had to wait until now to finish it off.

In the end I decided to go with the same colour as before for the lining and not change anything else.
I am happy with the result, but my father is probably the one who is the most happy, seeing his clothes are still working after 60 years. Saturday, October 20, 2012

Blue dress
Have a tendency to fall for blue fabric when I find it...
And since I definitively could use some more dresses this one was finished as an in-between project before the jacket is finished off.
Another finished project this weekend, somewhere to hang the clothes when they need some fresh air - and yes, the red ones are magnets and they do work!

September in Paris
As usual, end of September means it is time to take a trip to Paris. The weather gods were very nice this time, so I decided to walk around in Montmartre a bit

The fabric goods were also in a good mood - and it seems it is the right time to buy corduroy right now - since in one of my favourite shop they had it in all colours. This meant I had to decide which ones....
The store Le Bon Marche were celebrating, and had therefore changed there decor a bit...

And of course - no visit without the lady...nice view from the window of the apartment.
