Projects for autumn....

Althought the weather is still lovely and warm, with sunny days and up to 23-25 degrees - I know that autumn will come, with the chance to wear very nice clothes...the question is only - which project should I start with?

Or maybe this one?

In the end I might go for a pair of comfortable trousers instead!

All of the patterns can be found in the magazine Burda

Clothes for men....

Sometimes, although not often I admit,  I decide to make something for the man in my life - and this time it turned out to be a pair of trousers, made by fabric bought in Scotland.

As it turns out the man in my life likes
scottish tartan fabric as much as I do,
and even thinks about me when he is
traveling, so this blue and yellow one
(together with two other ones that I have
not used yet) he bought when he visited
Scotland some time ago.

No visit to YSL....

sometimes plans do not work out as intended....it turned out that for the visit to the YSL work space you had to book a time (after having bought the tickets) - and on the day when we were there the group was already full ....fortunately the ticket is valid until end of January 2012 so now we have a reason to go to Paris again within the next few months.

Did manage to take a stroll along the rue Faubourg St Honore with all its lovely shops with very nice clothes - and in the evening it is even more beatiful than during the day.

Feel like reading?

If you like me is fascinated by really well-tailored mens fashion - here is a nice one to read (or just look into, that works as well).

Savile Row - the master tailors of british bespoke

The only problem is that it is too heavy to bring with you and read in bed before sleeping...

Time to move the summer skirts into the basement....

Although difficult to believe - the summer will end (at the moment it is 26 degrees in the flat and 20 degrees outside - at 22.17...) so the summer clothes will go down to the basement. Therefore - last chance to take some pictures of the summer skirts I did. I rarely work with cotton since I don't think it is that much fun - but sometimes it is necessary, so I thought I should do 3 skirts at the same time:

The fabric for the grey skirt I found in Hamburg, in a shop called "Mahler Stoffe", situated in an industrial area of Hamburg so it was somewhat difficult to find - but it was worth the extra tour - just remember to bring cash since they do not take credit card....

The fabric for skirt number 2 and 3 I found in Berlin, in a shop called Frau Tulpe. Lots of cotton fabric in funny colours and patterns - makes you happy just to watch . Also available online:

Another day I was lucky enough to find this fantastic black wool
fabric in a shop in Zurich - unfortunately the fabric shops that I
have found so far in Switzerland are not really inspiring, but this
fabric was an exception to that rule.

I had some fabric over, so I had to come up with an idea....

The fabric was bought in a shop called:

DONNA teixitis
               retalls

Last year in february, we had a job meeting in Barcelona - and since I try to find fabric in all cities I visit I went for a tour here as well - and found this really nice one that suited perfectly for a Chanel jacket.
Did not really find any interesting buttons so our friend YSL had to step in and help out - luckily the partner decided to throw away an old suit some time ago - the buttons stayed though!

The mannequin is starting to feel a bit naked -
it is time to dress her!
